We thank member Les Robinson for this very useful resource on teaching the costs of the post-911 wars.
The Costs of War Program, housed in the Watson Institute at Brown University, have compiled a wonderful set of resources for teaching the costs of the post-9/11 wars: https://watson.brown.edu/costsofwar/teaching . The program is notable for considering not only blood and treasure, but also climate change, displacement, opportunity costs, and the ongoing structures of violence (especially in the Middle East and Africa through a network of bases). The website is rich in data, graphics, video content and more, and will be of benefit to H-Pad members, especially those in the high school teaching community. The program is also generating a campaign to teach the costs of the post-9/11 wars. The reports generated by the program over the past 10 years also provide an invaluable source of authoritative information for activist group campaigns, citizen learning, and information sharing.
