Call for Submissions for Radical History Review Affiliate Sessions for AHA 2025
We sponsored 17 radical history sessions and a vigil supporting the people of Gaza at the last American Historical Association conference in early January 2024 with great success. In addition we proposed a resolution at the AHA business meeting calling on historians to oppose the suppression of academic freedom and honest education through the Culture Wars; it was approved unanimously. In effect, we held a radical history mini-conference within the larger conference!
We want to do it again at AHA 2025, January 3-6, in New York City.
To get the ball rolling, we are calling now for ideas and proposals for affiliate sessions sponsored by the Radical History Review for the 2025 conference. We are looking for ideas on a wide variety of radical history themes and topics, national and international, which have implications for progressive struggle and change. These proposals can be developed in detail, or they can be quite preliminary. They will form the basis for shaping our overall set of sessions and the contours of our efforts generally, as of as well as for structuring individual sessions.
Please submit your ideas and initial proposals to us by March 22 at the two email addresses below. We will review these and get back to you with guidance for final proposals. We will need the latter in late April.
Please send your ideas to Molly Nolan at mn4@nyu.edu.
